Gujarat University develops 5G antenna, speeds from 1 to 10 gigabytes

Ahmedabad, June 16, 2021

The 5G antenna being developed by Dr. Gautam Makwana, Professor, Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Graduate School of Engineering and Technology (GSET), will not only enhance the internet speed through the development of indigenous 5G technology, but also provide a Will also usher in new generation technology.

In this regard, GTU Chancellor Naveen Sethe said that technology is the need of the whole world at this time. With the development of indigenous 5G technology, India will become self-reliant in the field of communication technology and will take the world in a new direction. This university in Gujarat has challenged Chinese technology.

Dr. Gautam Makwana has received a grant of over Rs 22 lakh from the Gujarat Council of Science and Technology (Gujacost) for this project. According to him, all kinds of research are being done in GTU with the help of supercomputers.

The 5G antenna will be able to connect 1 to 1 million devices in a range of 1 km per second. Also, 500 to 1000 terabytes of data can be exchanged at a speed of 1 to 10 GHz. By connecting IoT-based devices to 5G, automation can be done easily and quickly in all types of industrial sectors from agriculture.

The mobile network will be upgraded which will increase the speed in the network response i.e. all types of wireless devices can be connected in 5 to 10 milliseconds. In 4G, this duration is 20 to 40 seconds. 5G antenna makes it easy to transfer 10 to 30 Gigabits of data per second. That is, the speed of 5G will increase 100 times compared to 4G.

He said the 5G antenna developed by him would be capable of handling 5G including 3G, 4G and other technologies like WiFi. In addition, 6G may be added to this antenna in the future. Other antennas emit radiation at the same frequency in all directions, while Drs. The 5G antennas developed by Makwana will be able to receive radiation at different frequencies in different directions.

New generation technology will also start.

GTU Gujarat Technological University is now going to develop indigenous 5G technology. Professor Dr. Gautam Makwana from the Graduate School of Engineering and Technology will develop and provide indigenous 5G antenna technology, which will not only enhance the internet speed but will usher in new generation technology through the development of indigenous 5G technology. .

India will become the center of communication with indigenous 5G technology

In this regard, GTU Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveen Sethe said that technology is the need of the whole world at this time. With the development of indigenous 5G technology, India will become a hub of communication technology and become self-reliant and take the world in a new direction. GTU Registrar Dr. KN Kher, Dr. Makwana and GTU GSET Director Dr. S.D. Congratulations to Panchal in this regard.

All types of research using supercomputers

Dr. Gautam Makwana has received a grant of more than Rs 22 lakh from the Gujarat Council of Science and Technology for this project. He further said that all kinds of research is being done in GTU with the help of supercomputers. The 5G antenna will be able to connect 1 to 1 million devices in a range of 1 km per second. 6G can also be added to this antenna in the future

In 4G, this duration is 20 to 40 seconds. A 5G antenna makes it easy to transfer 10 to 30 gigabytes of data per second, which means 5G speeds are up to 100 times faster than 4G. He further added that the 5G antenna developed by him will be able to work with other technologies like 3G, 4G and 5G including WiFi. In addition, 6G may be added to this antenna in the future. Other antennas provide radiation at the same frequency in all directions, while the 5G antenna developed by Dr. Makwana will be able to receive radiation at different frequencies in different directions.
