BJP’s Patil fears that by not giving tickets to veterans, they will become anti-party

Gandhinagar, 5 February 2021

Gujarat BJP will hold zonal and district level meetings and assign work to leaders who have not got tickets. BJP President CR Patil, however, did not say what kind of work it would be. The fact that such meetings take place suggests that the party is of the view that it is necessary to calm internal opposition. Otherwise there may be an attempt to defeat each other from within. The party believes that these new rules will pose an internal threat. Preparations have already been made to suppress it.

The party will assign work to those who do not get tickets according to their experience.

Asked whether such rules would also be introduced in the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha, he said that the Parliamentary Board of the state did not have the power to do so. He also said that he did not need to give any reply on the issue of giving more tickets to Patidars.

Patil also clarified about giving tickets to the office bearers, that if a person is in a position in the party and gets a ticket, he has to resign. After leaving the post, he will not be able to regain that position. Each candidate is going to fill his candidature form in Vijay Muhurta on Friday. They will only go to fill the membership form by following Kovid’s rules.
