So instead of dangerous medicines of chemicals, now organic pesticides have been invented for spice crops. Which will be used most in Gujarat. Cumin is grown on 8 lakh hectares in the country. The Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology has developed an organic insecticide to kill pests in spiced crops with seeds. Has successfully developed a new bio-disinfectant based technology.
Preparation of disinfectant, bio-pesticide has been found to be very effective for spice crops with seeds like cumin, coriander. Safe for farmers and the environment. It can be used to control various agricultural pests. A patent application has been filed. Gujarat produces cumin the most.

The Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT) under the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals of the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has collaborated with ICAR-National Algebraic Spices in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
