Helpline for essential goods-services opened in Gujarat

In the lockdown of 21 days, the people of Gujarat had given  to micro-planning to get easy access to milk, vegetables, cereals, pulses, groceries etc. without any hassle.

A 24×7 centralized controlroom has been set up at State Emergency Operations Center SOEC in Gandhinagar for vigilance and monitoring. The helpline number of this control room is -1070 and 079 23251900.

There are about 68 vegetable markets operating all over the state. On Thursday morning, 59,000 quintals of vegetables were reported in the state’s vegetable societies and markets. 13655 quintals of potatoes, 4350 quintals of onion, 6900 quintals of tomato and 34000 quintals of green vegetables arrived.

In the state, 268 quintals of fruits, including 610 quintals of bananas, 970 quintals of apple and 1100 quintals of other fruits, are generated in the market.

Micro Planning Supply Department has made the availability of wheat, rice, sugar, lentils and salt free of cost by the government through approved cheap grain shops in April-2020 to over 3.25 crore people of over 50 lakh families.

55 lakh liters of milk pouch is being distributed daily in the state. Milk treeta pack pouches and skimmed milk powder will be available if needed.

The State Emergency Operation Center has a control room of the health department, in addition to the officers of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, Police, Transport, Ports, Science Technology, Urban Development, Panchayats and Industries.

One of the nodal officers of these departments has been appointed for coordination.
