સુરતના કોરોના શંકાસ્પદ વ્યક્તિઓને ટેસ્ટિંગ માટે લેબોરેટરી સુધી લાવવા તથા લઇ જવામાં મુશ્કેલી છે. આ મુશ્કેલીના નિવારણ માટે SMC દ્વારા હોટસ્પોટ તથા ક્લસ્ટરમાં જઈને સેમ્પલ એકત્ર કરવાનું નક્કી કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. સિટીલિંક બસને ‘કોવિડ-૧૯ મોબાઈલ સેમ્પલ કલેક્શન યુનિટ’માં રૂપાંતર કરવાનો નિર્ણય લેવામાં આવ્યો છે.
જનતાને પ્રાઇવેટ લેબ કે સરકારી હોસ્પિટલ સુધી જવાની જરૂરિયાત નહિ રહે. તેમનું સ્ક્રીનિંગ અને ટેસ્ટિંગ ઝડપી બનશે. આ ઉપરાંત, કોરોના વાઇરસ સંક્રમણના ભયને ટાળી શકાશે.
કોવિડ-૧૯ મોબાઈલ સેમ્પલ કલેક્શન યુનિટમાં વિશ્વ સ્વાસ્થ્ય સંગઠનની માર્ગદર્શિકા અનુસાર મેડિકલ સાધનોથી સજ્જ ત્રણ કમ્પાર્ટમેન્ટ બનાવવામાં આવ્યા છે.
સોશિયલ ડિસ્ટન્સ જળવાઈ રહે તે માટે “પેશન્ટ કમ્પાર્ટમેન્ટ”, બીજું કોવિડ-૧૯ સેમ્પલ એકત્ર કરવા માટે “સેમ્પલ કલેક્શન ડિપાર્ટમેન્ટ” તથા લીધેલા સેમ્પલના ટેસ્ટિંગ માટે “ડોક્ટર કમ્પાર્ટમેન્ટ” છે.
એન્ટ્રી તથા એક્ઝીટ પોઇન્ટ છે, બહોળી જગ્યાના કારણે સંક્ર્મણનો ભય રહેતો નથી. ચેપથી બચાવી શકાશે, અને ટેસ્ટિંગની પ્રક્રિયા કરવા માટે સુરક્ષિત વાતાવરણ પ્રાપ્ત થશે.[:en]Surat, 13 May 2020

कोविद -17 मोबाइल सैंपल कलेक्शन यूनिट में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के दिशानिर्देशों के अनुसार चिकित्सा उपकरणों से लैस तीन डिब्बे हैं।
सामाजिक दूरी बनाए रखने के लिए एक “रोगी कम्पार्टमेंट” है, एक और नमूने एकत्र करने के लिए एक “नमूना संग्रह विभाग” है और दूसरे में लिए गए नमूनों के परीक्षण के लिए “डॉक्टर कम्पार्टमेंट” है।
