રૂા.9750 કરોડના 9થી 11 જેટલા સોનીઓએકરોડના બોગસ બિલ બનાવ્યા હોવાનું જણાવીને તેની કસ્ટડી માગતા કોર્ટે તેને 11મી સુધી સીજીએસટીના અધિકારીઓની કસ્ટડીમાં રાખવાનો હુકમ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. ભરત સોની અને તેનો પરિવાર છેલ્લા 10 વર્ષથી સોના-ચાંદી અને હીરાના ખોટા બિલો બનાવી કરચોરી કરતો હતો.

ઇનપુટ ટેક્સ ક્રેડિટ હેઠળ રૂપિયા 210 કરોડની ચોરી સામે આવવાની શક્યતા હતી. પણ આગળ કઈ થયું નથી. તેની સામે આરોપ નામું ઝડપથી રજૂ તો કરાયું પણ 80 કરોડની ચોરી રૂ.210 કરોડ સુધી કેમ ન પહોંચી શકી તેની સામે સવાલો ઊભા થઈ રહ્યાં છે. શું તેમાં રાજકીય નેતાઓએ ખરાબ ભૂમિકા ભજવી હતી.

પોતે, પુત્ર, દીકરી અને બે જમાઈના નામે ઘનશ્યામ જ્વેલર્સ, કનિષ્ક જ્વેલર્સ, દીપ જ્વેલર્સ, N.S. જ્વેલર્સ, N.A. ઓર્નામેન્ટ્સ અને B/૨ જેમ્સ નામની 6 કંપનીઓ ઊભી કરીને સેટેલાઈટ, સી.જી. રોડ, સહિત શહેરના 15 સોનીઓના નામ ખુલ્યા હતા.
